Rose Marie Kopyar
Rose Marie Kopyar, 90, of Cambridge, passed on May 5, 2026. Rose was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend.
Kindness was her calling card, and pastries were her ever-present and never-ending gift.
Rose was born in Bellaire, Ohio on February 9, 1936, to Mary Loksa Kuchinka and Matthew Kuchinka.
After graduating from Bellaire St. John’s High School, she worked as a secretary at Metropolitan Life Insurance (MetLife) in Wheeling, WV. She married Tom Kopyar on October 31, 1959, in Bellaire, Ohio. In 1969, Tom and Rose moved with their children to Cambridge and lived in their Fairdale home for the next 56 years.

She was also a wonderful cook, preparing homemade meals for her family and many others. She was an active member of the Catholic Women’s Club of St. Benedict’s Church, Guernsey Catholic Central Booster Club and the Guernsey County Senior Citizens Center. After raising her children, she returned to secretarial work for Westfield Companies.
Always alongside her husband Tom, she was a constant supporter of her children’s activities including basketball, Little League, dance recitals, music and drama. She was an avid sports fan. When her grandchildren began playing sports, she was their greatest fan, attending numerous basketball and volleyball games, soccer matches and track meets.
Later in life, for many years, Rose was a devoted caretaker for her husband. She loved gardening, singing, playing cards with family and friends and watching Hallmark TV movies.
She is survived by her husband, Tom; three children, Beth Kopyar (Craig Fujisaki), Cynthia Kopyar and Tony Kopyar (Lori); four grandchildren, Carson Fujisaki, Tessa Fujisaki, Kaitlyn Kopyar and Jenna Kopyar, her brother, John Kuchinka and countless other family and dear friends.
